Neuro-ink

In this ink session, I was playing with ink droplets letting them flow with the water from my brush. After several of these, I noticed a theme developing. To me, they looked like neurons spreading out onto the paper medium.

Ink and Water

This page highlights my ink and water work. I generally work in themes, so you’ll see each one separated with a little summary of the theme and process.

Pen & ink Sketches

Although I enjoy free-form work, I admire & aspire to develop my architectural and editorial illustrative styles.

Ink Waves

This series is a study of waves, ocean, and relative forms.

Free Form

Ink and water are one of my favorite mediums to work in. There is a certain amount of freedom - a letting go of control that’s necessary for the ink to flow with the water. It’s always a surprise watching the ink and water mix and I think it's a neat metaphor for creative expression; to give yourself fluid parameters and allow flow.

Cosmos Series

This collection of original pen & ink illustrations. I started this series because I wanted to explore the fluidity of inks and have an ongoing fascination with the Cosmos.

As I was illustrating, I found that each of the planets and moons had its own personality, depth, and intrigue. I love space - physically, mentally, and astronomically. But mostly because it is endless. There is more to explore, we haven’t reached the end and we are only limited by what we believe.
